41st Athens Marathon
On Friday, April 12th at 13:00, registrations begin for the 41st Athens Authentic Marathon!
The Athens Marathon, often referred to as "The Authentic," is one of the most iconic races in the world, tracing its roots back to ancient Greece. This historic marathon follows the legendary route taken by Pheidippides, an Athenian soldier who ran from the town of Marathon to Athens in 490 BC to announce the Greek victory over the Persians at the Battle of Marathon.
In addition to the full marathon, there are several smaller events held in conjunction with the Athens Marathon, catering to runners of all abilities. These events include:
Road Race 10k: A shorter distance race that follows part of the marathon route, offering a scenic and accessible option for runners.
Road Race 5k: Perfect for families and casual runners, this non-competitive event provides a fun and festive atmosphere for participants to enjoy.
Universities night run 5k: Open to all studentswho have an academic ID (pass) or an ISIC card.
